You only need the best gear in the game if you want to do Ranked PVP or NiM operations. The question then is what you want to do in the game. You have a few ways to gear up, but in theory doesnt matter what you do, you will be getting gear from everywhere. There are vendors based on your level.Īt level 75 its another story. by visiting the vendors on fleet in the "Supply" section. ![]() You can get modabale gear from Cartel Market, drops, GTN or any other place and then fill this gear with mods, weapons. You are fine with just the drops you get. While leveling or doing anything in the game you are rewarded with gear, which is more or less enough for you as the game is too easy now. Right now you buy the gear for credits, until you reach level 75 where there is a completely different system. You can also augment you gear adding an extra augmentation slow where you can insert and augment with stats too. You have 2 types of gear, one comes with fixed stats that you cannot modify and the other is modable, which means you can replace the Armoring, Mod and Enhancement. Maybe somebody who has been playing "Old Republic" for longer could help me out with this. I thought I would ask here, since most everyone I've been asking are relatively new players. ![]() I'm also being told that unless an item already comes with the aforementioned slot, that there is no method of adding slots for "Barrel", "Mod", "Enhancement" or 'Tuning". ![]() That the only way to get equipment that can do more damage or that provides a higher armor value is to either grind for them in-game or by doing Flashpoint missions. Others, in-game, have told me that it's not possible to upgrade or modify the "Key Stats" (whether that's the damage inflicted by a weapon or the armor value of your equipment). What it boils down mostly is the "Key Stats" that are provided for any special weapon or piece of armor. The one thing I haven't been able to find anything out about is specific information related to upgrading weapons and adding modifications. There have been a lot of players in game who have been helping me with the learning curve and some of the information I've been getting here on the forums has been very helpful. Let me say that I've been enjoying Star Wars: The Old Republic ever since I replaced my old desktop with a newer one that could run this game.
